The purpose of the Website is to allow participating lenders to share information about borrowers so that other lenders can use this information in determining whether to extend credit to borrowers (the “Service”).
We collect personal information about borrowers from lenders who choose to input this information into the Service. The personal information that we collect includes:
Lenders API relies on it’s users to obtain consent from borrowers to allow borrower personal information to be shared into the Service and accessed and used by other lenders for the purposes of making lending decisions. By providing us with borrower personal information, the member represents and warrants that they have obtained all necessary consents to provide the member personal information to us for the purposes of providing the Service.
We also collect information about our lenders in order to provide them with access to the Service. In order to access the Service a member will need to create an account by providing their name, title, company name, business contact information. We use this information to provide, manage and administer the Service and for security purposes.
We may also collect certain information about lenders automatically when they visit the Website, including IP address, the date and time of the visit, the pages visited, the features used, and the actions taken. This information is used to provide the Website and Service.
Lenders. Certain borrower personal information is shared with participating lenders to assist them in making lending decisions.
Service Providers. We may use service providers to provide certain services on our behalf such as website hosting, data hosting and processing, analytics, marketing and advertising, communications and other services. Some of these service providers may be located outside of Canada, including in the United States.
Business transactions. If Lenders API or any of its assets are sold or merged with another entity, we may share your personal information as part of that transaction.
Legal. We and our service providers may disclose personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order (which may include lawful access by Canadian, US or other foreign governmental authorities, courts or law enforcement agencies) or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
We have implemented security measures to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. However, please be aware that no security measures can offer absolute security and therefore it is possible that personal information may be lost, stolen, or accessed without authorization.
You may request access to or correction of your personal information in our control by contacting us as described below. You may also withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. Your right to access or correct your personal information, and withdraw consent, is subject to certain legal restrictions and we take steps to verify identity before providing access or making corrections.
